Godh Bharai - Indian Baby Shower!

(Backdated to September 7, 2013)
This celebration was EXTRAORDINARY! I was the selected designer for this 350 guest event! The South Fayette Fire Hall is a large neutral venue perfect for transforming into a Indian inspired atmosphere. Guests enjoyed the décor as I customized the space like it never has been done before.

The entrance greeted guests with a display of fresh bamboo, live banana plants, my hand painted tables, elephant statue and fabrics.  A table was dressed and decorated with a large statue of Ganesh, floating flowers and candles, hanging beaded lantern and floral arrangement.

Each table was dressed with a different colored cloth. Some were shimmery satin cloths (provided by local linen company Exceptional Essentials Plus) and my handmade multi colored patterned cloths. Some tables had 8 foot tall bamboo centerpieces while others had 2 foot tall gold base centerpieces with greenery, flowers and my handmade beaded garlands. Additionally, all tables had an assortment of colored glass with my handmade sequin embellished elephant cutouts.

The 12' x 8' stage base was provided by the venue. I provided the foundation for the backdrop as well as the fabric décor. Lavish brocade fabrics and tapestries adorned with tassels made for a traditional setting for the Puja. A colorful array of pillows added to the stage's authentic décor. Blue up lighting (provided by Pittsburgh Event Lighting) illuminated the exquisite patterns of the fabric.

The vertical recessed areas along the walls provided the perfect space for 18 feet of sari fabric to be hung! Then, I up lighted the hanging fabric with colored LED lighting units (provided by Pittsburgh Event Lighting). AWESOME!

Centered from the ceiling was a hoop of 6 satin panels, each measuring 10 yards (30 feet) long! They gracefully draped outward providing color and elegance to the otherwise boring ceiling. In addition, colored paper lanterns were grouped and suspended for further decor and interest.
